Trees can make you happier and safer

Research suggests that being around trees is good for our mental and social well-being. Being in close relationship to trees can improve our health, lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, and decrease stress and anxiety.

Planting trees can also lead to less crime in neighbourhoods. In one study, burglary rates went down 6.3 percent for every 10 percent increase in park space.
