When trees and buildings meet

The current revival of green architecture began in the 1970s, when architects and engineers began to incorporate green roofs and other energy saving measures into their projects. Green roofs can be as much as 4.4 degrees Celsius cooler.

If used across a neighbourhood, green roofs can reduce the temperature by 7 degrees Celsius. Trees can also help reduce local concentrations of nitrogen oxide by up to 57%.
